I've noticed the talk of some local reviews as top shelf, or second drawer, and so on. Does anybody have an opinion on Yuan Yang? Is it a decent review, or more like a high school lit magazine? I've never seen a copy. Would appreciate any help?

Regarding Yuan Yang's standard/credibility, I was somewhat involved in helping out with last year's issue, and apparently someone got a major contract with a very established US publisher partly because of the exposure at Yuan Yang, where part of her novel appeared as a short story.

A little late, no doubt, esp. if you were thinking of submitting for this year's, but here's a sample issue.

Cheers,
HM

Thanks very much, Hsien Min. That's what I was looking for.

Well I've had a poem in it for the past couple of years... it's not a bad mag, although the copy-editing could be tighter...

Cheers,
HM

Thanks, Alf. Notes on quality? Has anybody read an issue?

Of course the last question mark is a typo. That's not a question.
