QUEST FOR A CHANGE - POEM

Neither a ploy nor a way to evade
Slowly, day-by-day hopes fade
Similar situations whenever we face
Against the tide we prefer to race.
Paths are many, means are many
For survival we wish earning money
But if destiny acts against wishes
Destined, we lose all the riches.
But what about the poor, their fate?
What’s the fate of the starving lot?
What’s the fate of a sole breadwinner?
What’s the fate of a draught-hit farmer?
Who’s there to provide some succor?
Who’s there to provide some shelter?
If we humans lose the humane touch
At will, miseries penetrate out of reach.
We got moved by droughts and famines
Yes, got shocked by wars and destructions
We stood mute by deaths of starvation
Being humans, let’s sow seeds of concern.
A change in attitude is the need of the hour
O human! Time is ripe to amend our manner. |
