Heat

Sweat creeps around my scalp,
making my hair damp and untouchable.
My upper lip collects it like an undernourished gully.
Drink sweet honey tea,
the backs of my knees ooze salty warmth.
My body cries out for cool relief.
The lazy fan cannot reach me.
