I think if we blend economics with literary arts, we can produce a more lively and engaging portal for visitors to come by regularly. My ideal portal (Literary Times) would include the following scope of contents (please feel free to add/comment/differ):-
1. NEWS – reports on literary events (pay $ to sources) E.g. - Poetry for the masses (by David Chew, TODAY-14/10/2004) - Literature prize makes comeback (by Clara Chow, The Straits Times-25/09/2004) - Cat Lim unplugged (by Neo Hui Min, The Straits Times-25/09/2004)

3. SALES & PROMOTION (collect $ from advertisers) E.g. - Bookstores - Book or magazine distributors
4. WHAT’S HAPPENING E.g. - Events/festivals - Competition
5. BOOK REVIEWS (get publisher/distributor to pay $ to contributor) - includes discussions covered at NBDC’s reading sessions
6. INTERVIEWS (writers and academics)
7. WRITING COURSES (collect $ from advertiser)
