Returning
Take me back into the ocean
I miss swimming in an uncertainty of hued but iridescent beliefs I just wanted to be normal but you wanted a breathtaking life of splendid cinematography you wanted fireworks and a stellar soundtrack when I would have settled for a one out of five starred life I would have liked stealing glances and sneaking grins in places we don’t belong we will never belong or at family reunions where I am nothing more than just a friend I would laugh at the off-pitched songs your tone-deaf voice strangely on point crooning our story this story the one we are in this underwhelming novel lost amongst the bestsellers of others we would never be tucked neatly in endless rows of shelves forgotten or simply skirted around and away from us slightly unconventional lovers we could never possibly stand a chance so take me back and tell me for all that is worth what we were — and I mean all of us non-others, ever worth.
