Island "Once upon a time there was a boy who loved a girl, and her laughter was a question he wanted to spend his whole life answering." ― Nicole Krauss, The History of Love
I am an islander
but never once have I thought to ask how islands are created. Geology informs that they birth from built-up lava layers that finally break the surface of the water like a newborn's bubbled cry, or heap from deposits borne by conspiring currents. The latter explains how today I saw three soft words accumulate from bobbing questions on the horizon, into certain stone - an isle of answers, a tender blush of earth opined by oceans.
