i went away in search of sun, into the sea where light poolsaround bare ankles. the waves
are enough. they trace my feetnavigating sand, a jellyfishfloats by. i let it come close
and i can see everything: its body, a lack of necessary organs, a sun
on its back, spot of light misunderstood as heart.i forget its sting. my palm slips
into the water, a second lover seeking corrosion.
