the smell of dead flowers raised by the breeze,
the sepulchral incense of the human being,
dominated, derived and deceased.
what is the meaning of this dirge?
what is the metaphor for she who dies twice?
the flesh of a burning corpse meddles with the earth.
out of dust came she,
and out of dust she will return,
atoms, particles and blood.
the scabbard of her soul seeks no rest,
the shapeless being of her body seeks no test,
awake, acrid and alien.
